Two new, national research centres each receives DKK 20 million from Knæk Cancer 2018 -  Danish Research Center for Precision Medicine in Blood Cancer and Danish Research Centre for Social Inequality in Survivorship.


Danish Research Centre for Social Inequality in Survivorship will among other issues do research in how we become better at finding and helping the patients in need of more awareness. The purpose is to make sure these patients benefit from the development in e.g. diagnosis and treatment equal to the more well-off patients.

Danish Research Center for Precision Medicine in Blood Cancer has the purpose of improving the treatment of patients with blood cancer. The research centre is testing and developing drugs to target the specific cancer disease of the individual patient – called 'precision medicine' or 'personalised medicine'.

National research centres
Since 2016, seven national research centres have been established in collaboration between the Danish Cancer Society, the Danish Regions and DCCC. The purpose of the national research centres is to strengthen Danish research and to collect experiences on the development and use of new insights into prevention, diagnostics, treatment methods, courses and organising across the country and specialties for the benefit of all Danish cancer patients. The centres are supported by Danish Cancer Society and 'Knæk Cancer' funds.
