Danish Multidisciplinary Cancer Groups (DMCG.dk), Danish Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Danish Cancer Society welcome politicians and partners within the Danish healthcare system to discuss how we can utilise health data proactively to make it visible and outline the quality in cancer care trajectories, and thus increase survival and quality of life among cancer patients. The conference discussions will form input for considerations regarding the Danish government health-care reform policy. Utilisation of health data is crucial for the collective healthcare system to provide a more effective and joint effort.

Cancer care trajectories are intersectorial and involve a variety of professional experts and partners with various objectives and perspectives on data and quality on a national, regional and municipal level.

Knowledge of quality in treatment is a precondition when creating the best settings for a cancer trajectory and thus provide patients with the best possible foundation. There is great potential when transforming health data to knowledge about quality and actively apply this knowledge for quality improvement. Furthermore, knowledge of quality ought to be available for relevant partners as well as patients.

Within the field of cancer, Denmark has a well-developed data foundation and a unique opportunity to create one of the  best international overviews of quality in cancer care trajectories.
