This year, Danish Comprehensive Cancer Center (DCCC) and Danish Multidisciplinary Cancer Groups (DMCG.dk) are organizing the Danish Cancer Research Days on the 29th-30th of August in Odense. We invited all interested to send in abstracts on research projects, clinical trials or other research activities related to cancer.

Abstract, poster walks and presentation on the main scene
Every year, more than 100 researchers have the opportunity to present their research at the Danish Cancer Research Days. It is a unique opportunity to spread knowledge across geography as well as research area.

From the submitted abstracts, our interdisciplinary committee will select the researchers, who will have the opportunity to transform their abstract into a physical poster. The posters will be displayed on both conference days and during the poster session. Similar to the previous year, the poster session will take place as moderated poster-walks with discussion groups.

Furthermore, the abstracts will be used to nominate seven young scientists for the honerable "Exceptional Young Scientist Abstract"-prize. These seven scientists will present their findings on the main scene.

My abstract has been accepted – should I do anything further?
Yes. Presenting authors are required to register for the conference. Registration opens May 1, 2024.

How will my poster be displayed if my abstract is accepted?

Poster session: The posters will be displayed on both conference days. All presenting authors are expected to be able to give a brief and precise three-minute oral presentation of their poster to visitors during the poster session which also provides an opportunity for dialogue.
Presentation on stage: seven abstract submitters will be chosen to present their research on stage in the conference session "Current Danish cancer research in the spotlight". The criteria for selection are originality, scientific quality and cancer relevance. Further information about the process will be sent directly to the selected submitters. The seven selected presenters are not to bring a poster.
Abstract book: We will be assembling an electronic abstract book containing all accepted abstracts. The abstract book will be available on the website.

What are the formalities for the poster?

Maximum width: 90 cm
Maximum height: 120 cm
Print on fabric or paper is optional
Language (English/Danish) is optional

We are two (or more) abstract authors, who shall we name as presenting author?
It is only possible to enter one presenting author. It is required that all presenting authors are participants at the conference.

What should I do if I am unable to present my poster?
If you are unable to attend the conference, you can appoint a colleague to present the poster on your behalf. The person in question has to be registered for the conference and cannot be listed as presenting author on another poster.

When can I hang up my poster?

What should I bring to hang up my poster?
There will be material available to hang the posters up. Only the available material may be used.

For how long will the posters be displayed?
Both days.

When am I expected to be at my poster during the conference?
You are required to be at your poster during the poster session and you are encouraged to be there after the session as well.

Will the conference programme be in English?
Abstracts and posters can be made and presented in either Danish or English according to your preference. The majority of the additional presentations at the conference will be in Danish.
