Grant recieved in 2023

DCCC has funded 196.000 DKK to the project.

Hematology is a specialty with unique challenges for patients, families, and healthcare professionals due to complex care and treatment pathways with acute, persistent and burdensome symptoms, complications and late effects. Addressing these challenges requires a collective effort.

There is already well-established hematological health research, but it is primarily conducted at individual hospitals. Therefore, the establishment of a national interdisciplinary network is an important initiative.

The network will serve several important purposes, including coordinating strategic initiatives and promoting the integration of research activities both nationally and internationally.

The network plans to contribute to various activities, including organizing thematic days focused on hematological research, planning and conducting national research projects, and working towards the implementation of research findings in clinical practice at a national level. This is intended to enhance collaboration among researchers with diverse healthcare backgrounds. Consequently, the network will function as a platform for idea development, knowledge sharing, establishment of national projects and databases.

The network expects to play a crucial role in achieving substantial professional advancements in the field of hematology, which, in the long term, could lead to improved care and treatment pathways for patients with hematological diseases and their families.

Multidisciplinary organisation

The network is affiliated with the Danish society of Haematology.
