Received grant in 2020

DCCC has funded 153,124 DKK to the project.

The project will uncover potential barriers for equal use of proton therapy for Danish patients with head and neck cancer. The treatment is centralized in one clinic in Denmark and for patients with head and neck cancer only available in clinical trials.

The study will demonstrate the demographic, socioeconomic and clinical factors with potential impact on inequality in acceptance of enrollment in clinical trials and subsequent referral for a nationally centralized treatment. In light of the obtained knowledge, national initiatives will be developed to support equal access to proton therapy.
