Received grant in 2017

DCCC has funded 200,000 DKK to the project.

The purpose of DCCC Onco-Cardiology – DOC is to optimise Danish research in cardinal late effects of cancer therapy by facilitating national research protocols.

The network will ensure that Danish research groups working with cardio-oncological projects are acquainted and collaborate to the greatest extent possible. DOC will increase the focus on cardio-oncological issues and contribute to all patients in risk of developing heart diseases following cancer therapy are receiving optimal follow-ups and treatments.

Based on the network, several studies on heart diseases are initiated including a study on timely detection of cardiovascular diseases among childhood cancer treated patients and one on timely cardiac assessments of women, undergoing breast cancer radiotherapy, in high risk of serious radiation-induced heart disease.
