Deep Inspiration Breath Hold – the first national DIBH workshop

DCCC has funded 100,000 DKK to the project.

Deep inspiration breath-hold (DIBH) is used for breast cancer radiotherapy. The DIBH technique delivers the radiation while the patient is holding a deep breath. Taking a deep breath changes the position of the organs and reduces movement. DIBH is a simple method to limit radiation of the healthy tissue and thereby reducing the risk of late effects.

This workshop intends to establish a national network of DIBH centers to facilitate knowledge sharing in Denmark, including:
• increase the knowledge of DIBH among collaborating areas of specializations
• develop national standards
• develop national protocols for DIBH radiotherapy
