As a part of the project IMPROVE, patients having undergone surgical tumor removal in the bowel are having their blood samples analysed to locate the existence of possible circulating tumor DNA. If tumor DNA is found, the risk of the disease returning can be very high.

The aim of IMPROVE-Intervention Trial is to examine if it is possible to prevent relapse of the disease by offering preventing chemotherapy.
