Grant received in 2022

DCCC has funded 200,000 DKK to the project.

Patients with esophagogastric and ventricular cancer have increased risk of venous thrombosis (VTE). We lack knowledge about the risk of VTE in the course of treatment, as well as the patient's wishes for potential prevention of VTE.

With this initiative, a national and interdisciplinary group will be established with the purpose of planning and coordination studies which give insight into the preferences and information needs of patients with oesophageal and ventricular cancer who get VTE. Patients will be involved as active partners in the design of the studies.

The results will help improve the prevention and treatment of VTE, as well as improve the communication and interaction between health care professionals and patients with esophagogastric and ventricular cancer.
