DCCC has funded 200,000 DKK to the project.
Nutrition is important in the prevention and treatment of cancer-related weight loss. A national survey from 2016 found weight loss in 49 % during anti-cancer treatment. Of these, 35 % received no nutritional therapy. The European recommendations on nutrition in cancer are based on weak evidence due to a low number of high quality trials. The research network will establish and coordinate high quality trials with sufficient power and homogeneous patient groups, establish a nutrition register, develop, implement and standardise nutritional treatment in patients during anti-cancer treatment.
