Received grant in 2017

DCCC has funded 200,000 DKK to the project.

The purpose of PARAT is to initiate a national protocol for palliating radiotherapy for patients with lung cancer. The aim is to:

  • Examine if a short RT-regime, 20 Gy/ 4F causes less acute toxicity than a long RT-regime, 30 Gy/ 10 F (incl. Qol, alleviation of symptoms and survival)
  • Standardise and improve the technical quality of palliating radiotherapy for this group
  • Establish a clinical database for lung cancer patients treated with radiotherapy to ensure follow-ups in relation to side effects, Qol and survival for the benefit of both the individual patient and the group looking forward
