Grant received in 2021

DCCC has funded 200,000 DKK to the project

As part of the new national cross- and inter-disciplinary research centre for cancer surgery (ACROBATIC), we wish to perform a series of projects regarding prehabilitation of elderly, frail patients before cancer surgery.

The studies will be performed on several different cancers (colorectal, prostate, bladder, lung and gynaecological cancers). All cancers are often seen in elderly, frail patients and treatments involving major surgery.

In order to prepare the studies, we intend to hold a 2-day meeting with all the participating and interested partners. Here we need to discuss and identify the optimal frailty screening tool, decide how to optimize the intervention and decide on the best outcome measures. Subsequently, the protocols for each individual project and applications for funds will be drafted.
