Grant received in 2026

DCCC has funded 45,966 DKK to the project.

Participation in all three Danish cancer screening programs is lower than desired. Regional variation and social inequality are evident. This reduces the full effectiveness of the programs and is therefor a priority area in Cancer Plan V. Across regions and screening programs, many initiatives have been tested to increase participation. Only some of these have been systematically evaluated and published.

To address this, a national seminar will be organised in collaboration with the national screening steering groups. The seminar will bring together relevant stakeholders to exchange experiences from existing initiatives and develop new ideas to increase participation in the screening programmes.

The experiences and ideas generated will be compiled into a shared catalogue to inform future efforts to improve screening participation.

Interdisciplinary organisation

The seminar is coordinated through the existing national steering groups for the Danish cancer screening programmes in collaboration with the University Clinic for Cancer Screening at Randers Regional Hospital Aarhus University.
