Upon the latest directions from Danish health authorities, Danish Comprehensive Cancer Center and Danish Multidisciplinary Cancer Groups have decided to cancel Danish Cancer Research Days 2020. The conference was scheduled for August 27th and 28th.

Danish Cancer Research Days 2020 cannot be hosted as a national conference this year. The organisers have made the decision to cancel following the health authorities' extension of banning gatherings of this size until the end of August in order to reduce the spread of coronavirus infection.

The largest cancer conference in Denmark gathers 500 professionals and key partners within the field of cancer. Even though the situation might change during summer, the current estimation of the organisers is that an assembly of such a large number of health care professionals from the same field is not advisable.

A close national collaboration within the field of cancer is an important foundation for a continued and consistent quality improvement in research and treatment across cancer specialities and diseases. Consequently, Danish Cancer Research Days will return in 2021.

"We are looking forward to meet again next year", says Cai Grau, chair of the DCCC Scientific Council and event committee for Danish Cancer Research Days.
