A total of nearly 600,000 DKK has been granted to four national, interdisciplinary initiatives in the second application round of the year.

The supported initiatives are diverse and include the preparation of a study on the use of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in blood as a biomarker to guide treatment of large rectal polyps; the development of a study investigating the potential use of semaglutide to treat the late effect known as dumping syndrome; and a study exploring immunotherapy in patients with dMMR colorectal cancer.

In addition, DCCC supports a symposium aimed at increasing awareness of cancer and severe mental illness among healthcare professionals across the country. There is a clear need for improved knowledge: oncology departments often lack insight into severe mental illness, while psychiatric services typically have limited familiarity with cancer care. The symposium seeks to strengthen professional networks and interdisciplinary knowledge across oncology, psychiatry, palliative care, and general practice, ultimately aiming to improve the quality and continuity of cancer care for people with severe mental illness. The symposium will take place on 20 October 2025 and will bring together leading national experts to present current research and share clinical experience. Save the date and sign up for the symposium at DCCC.dk
