In the first funding round of the year, DCCC is supporting three initiatives aimed at improving patient treatment and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
The funded initiatives include the preparation of a study on genomically targeted drugs to patients with metastatic cancer, the development of a national platform study on organ preservation strategies in rectal cancer, and a symposium on prehabilitation in practice.
Prehabilitation is an emerging priority in cancer treatment, as highlighted in the upcoming Cancer Plan V. The symposium will focus on evidence-based practices, interdisciplinary collaboration, and organisational strategies to optimise the implementation of prehabilitation across healthcare sectors and specialties.
The programme will feature insights from well-established prehabilitation initiatives in Canada and Denmark, focusing on interdisciplinary teamwork and technological innovations. Patients will actively contribute to discussions to highlight the user perspective, while presentations on onco-geriatrics and outcomes from existing programmes will provide practical insights into effective approaches.
Experience an inspiring day of learning and collaboration on 7 April 2025. Find more information and register for the symposium here.
