The Danish Multidisciplinary Cancer Groups (DMCG.dk) and the Danish Comprehensive Cancer Center (DCCC) once again gathered participants across cancer disciplines on August 31st - September 1st, 2023, in Odense for Danish Cancer Research Days 2023.
Interdisciplinary - that it was!
When DCCC and DMCG.dk welcomed 500 participants to the Danish Cancer Research Days 2023, the focus was on everything from basic research to the latest patient-related research. Specifically, we explored topics such as prevention, cancer-DNA in the blood, late effects and follow-up, artificial intelligence and much more. Additionally, there was room for current Danish cancer research, as exemplified by the awarding of the 'Exceptional Young Scientist Abstract' prize to seven younger researchers and the prensentation of posters by over 100 researchers during the big poster session.
Abstracts and posters 2023
We invited all interested to send in abstracts on research projects, clinical trials or other research activities related to cancer. A total of 197 abstracts were submitted.
From the submitted abstracts, our interdisciplinary committee selected the researchers, who got the opportunity to transform their abstract into a physical poster.
This year's poster session was scheduled to be a moderated poster-walk with discussion groups. Each group consisted of approx. 10 posters and each 'poster-presenter' had 3 min. to present and 2 min. to answer questions. Each group had two moderators who nominated the best poster from their track, and then the Judging Committee chose the winner of the 'Best Poster Award'.
