DCCC has funded 188.900 DKK to the project

Despite solid evidence for effective treatment of cancer related pain, many cancer patients still suffer from daily pain. To address this issue properly, it is necessary to systematically collect and share information regarding the patients’ pain problems, with the main purpose to provide the best relief to as many patients as possible. ’COMPARE – cancer pain in PainData’ has two concrete aims;

1) to establish an ‘easy to use’ electronic data module for registration of cancer patients’ pain problems, and

2) to establish a professional network across pain disciplines for cancer and chronic, non-cancer pain (CNCP).

Ad 1); will be established through cooperation between REHPA and Smertecenter Syd, which runs ‘PainData’, a national quality- and research database collecting data from Danish pain clinics regarding CNCP.

Ad 2); the COMPARE-network will facilitate knowledge sharing and research in cancer pain, and thereby contribute to optimized relief of the patients’ different pain problems

Multidisciplinary organisation

The project is anchored in Nationalt Videncenter for Rehabilitering og Palliation (REHPA).
