Received grant in 2020

DCCC has funded 200,000 DKK to the project.

Contemporary imaging techniques with PSMA PET/CT and MRI have enabled an accurate imaging of the tumour localisation within the prostate gland. A growing number of patients go through diagnostic MR of prostate and prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT when they are diagnosed with prostate cancer. There is a significant potential in more systematically utilising this knowledge in prostate cancer treatment.

The aim is to increase knowledge and expertise within focal therapy of prostate cancer by establishing a Danish national network across professions and hospital units. With the funding from DCCC, the network is to address potentials and risks of tumor directed strategies within the focal therapy field, and further to form essential research questions and develop national clinical research protocols.
