Neoadjuvant immunotherapy in dMMR colorectal cancer
Grant received in 2021
DCCC has funded 145.000 DKK to the project
Neoadjuvant immune therapy has shown promising effects on patients with deficient mismatch repair (dMMR) colorectal cancer (CRC). With support from DCCC, we will prepare two national multidisciplinary investigator-initiated multicenter studies to investigate 1) the effect of neoadjuvant immune therapy with Pembrolizumab to patients with dMMR colon cancer and 2) the effect of treatment with ipilimumab and nivolumab to patients with dMMR rectum cancer. The studies involve radiologists, surgeons/endoscopists and oncologists. To obtain the highest possible national participation, and high protocol compliance, it is important to present the protocols for the investigators.
The grant will be used to conduct 2 workshops: 1) to present the protocols and the financial structure, 2) to teach the sites in response evaluation to be able to achieve study standardization and uniform data. We also apply for 1 months VIP salary to prepare the workshops and to finalize the protocols for submission.
Multidisciplinary organisation
The study group is anchored in Danish Colorectal Cancer Group (DCCG). Commitments have been obtained from all 5 regions. The studies are expected to be approved by DCCG as a multidisciplinary multicenter study.
