Network for health care professionals occupied in Danish cancer sequelae clinics
Grant received in 2022
DCCC has funded 200,000 DKK to the project
Today, the purpose of cancer treatment and follow-up is not only to cure cancer, but also to ensure that patients get the best possible life afterwards. Within a few years, several new sequelae-clinics have been established across Denmark. Despite a common overall purpose, the clinics have very different target groups, tasks, competencies and resources. Therefore, knowledge sharing is needed.
A network to gather and share knowledge between the sequelae-clinics
The initiators behind the network will work towards a more open clinical and scientific collaboration, which will have obvious benefits for the sequelae area:
- Newly established clinics will benefit from drawing on the knowledge and experience of the already established clinics
- Established assessment and treatment modalities can be communicated and further developed jointly
- Evidence for the effect of new assessment and treatment modalities can be created more quickly
- Knowledge of other sequelae-clinics' treatment offers can inspire to optimize the offers in your own clinic
- Gaps in existing knowledge in the field can be uncovered and filled
The network can thus contribute to all Danish cancer patients having equal access to the best possible assessment and treatment of their late effects.
A network for the many disciplines associated with late sequelae clinics
The network's primary target group is healthcare professionals employed at, or otherwise affiliated with, the country's sequelae clinics, e.g. nurses, physiotherapists / occupational therapists, sexologists, psychologists, dietitians, social and health assistants and doctors. The network's secondary target group is others with an interest in late effects after cancer.
