Received grant in 2020

DCCC has funded 193,750 DKK to the project.

The Danish National Head and Neck Cancer Day was launched jointly by patients and health care professionals in 2019 as a new initiative for mutual knowledge sharing based on topics selected by patients. The first Head and Neck Cancer Day was met with overwhelming interest. The initiative is aimed at patients, hospital staff and health care professionals from the primary health care.

The aim of the Head and Neck Cancer Day is to increase awareness on symptoms, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with head and neck cancer. Head and neck cancer is a rare disease with approximately 1600 new cases in Denmark annually, divided between different subtypes with different treatment methods and thus various issues for the individual patient. Consequently, there is a great need for knowledge sharing across sectors and between patients and professionals.

Based on the 2019 experiences and great interest, funding from DCCC will be applied to strengthen and expand the Danish National Head and Neck Cancer Days across Denmark.
